Milford Sound Fjord with its majestic beauty, deep dark blue waters, steep mountain slopes rising from them for more than a kilometer, densely forested, and covered with glacier caps from above, so shocked the English writer and traveler Rudyard Kipling that he called it "The Eighth Wonder of the World." 

Nowadays, UNESCO has included Milford Sound in the list of natural wonders of the world.
