Through huge streams of water, accompanied by a deafening roar, the Dettifoss waterfall is located under the steep rocky slopes of the canyon.

It is also called the European Niagara. "Dettifoss" means waterfall in Icelandic.

Surrounded by cliffs on both sides, Dettifoss Waterfall reaches a width of 100 meters, the height of the water column becomes about 44 meters, which is 9 meters less than the huge Niagara Falls. Dettifoss water consumption averages about 200 cubic meters per second, but at times it can reach up to 500 cubic meters per second.
