The Egyptian pyramids, located near the city of Cairo, where the fertile Nile Valley borders the red-hot sands of the Libyan desert, represent the greatest architectural monuments of antiquity. 

These gigantic stone buildings never cease to amaze with their awe-inspiring monumentality. Having a regular pyramidal shape, they served as tombs for the powerful pharaohs of Ancient Egypt.
