The Cote d'Azur, often called the French Riviera, is the Mediterranean coast of France in the Provence region, from Toulon to Italy. 

The name comes from the little—known French writer Stephane Liejard, who published the novel "Cote d'Azur" in 1870 - by association with the amazing beauty of the bay of the town of Hyeres. 

Due to the very mild climate with warm winters and not too hot summers, these places are very popular among tourists, turning into one of the most expensive and respectable corners of the world.
