Spring in Kyoto is the cherry blossom season, which begins in late March and ends in early April. 13 Hanami is one of the most anticipated events of the year, when trees bloom, and pink sakura—themed dishes and drinks begin to appear in cafes and mini-markets.

This is one of the most pleasant times to walk around Kyoto in terms of climate: the weather is warm, but not too hot and, as a rule, very dry, although showers in Japan can occur at any time of the day.
