Turkey 🇹🇷

Sovalje Island is the first of twelve islands in the Gulf of Fethiye. This is a quiet, peaceful place where there are no cars or roads.

The interconnected banks have intersecting footpaths shaded by pine trees. A walk from end to end will take less than an hour, and a canoe around the island will take an hour or two.

Exploring the blue waters around Sauvalier Island reveals ruins dating back to the late Roman era. If you walk deeper into the island, the remains of a Crusader castle are hidden among the pines and carob trees.
