China 🇨🇳, Turtle City Yuntai
Yongtai Turtle City is a historical city in Gansu Province, China. It was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) as part of the "Yellow River Defense Line" of the Great Wall. At its peak, there were approximately 2,000 infantry and 500 cavalry units in the city.
The city received the “turtle” nickname because of its unique shape: the southern gate is the head, the western and eastern gates are the paws, the oval city wall is the body, the northern gate is the tail.
