Santa Maria dell'Isola is a medieval church on top of a rocky cliff on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea (known as the "Coast of the Gods") in the Italian city of Tropea. 

The monastery dates back to the 4th century and is accessible only by a long and winding staircase carved directly into the rock face. 

In 1905, an earthquake destroyed the façade of the monastery, but it was restored again.
