Bukhara (Uzbek: Buxoro) is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, the administrative center of the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan. Located in an oasis in the lower reaches of the Zeravshan River.
In the developed Middle Ages, Bukhara was the center of culture, science and Muslim theology of the entire Middle East. In 1993, the historical center of the city was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Cities.
As of January 1, 2020, the population of Bukhara was 280,187 people.
