Sao Miguel is considered the largest of the Azores islands. It is very green and nature is different everywhere.

Since the island is of volcanic origin, one of the main attractions of San Miguel is its lakes. The most beautiful are Lagoa do Fogo, Lagoa das Sete Cidades, and Santiago. They are best viewed from above; there are special viewing platforms for this on the island.
