Lencois Maranhenses is a unique National Park in Brazil, located on the Atlantic coast of the northern part of the country, in the state of Maranhão.

The vast, flat area of ​​the park is covered with huge sand dunes, reaching up to 40 m in height. During the rainy season, water accumulates between the dunes, forming many lagoons.
