🏝 Palm Jumeirah is the first and most compact of three artificial Palm Islands, shaped like stylized palms off the coast of Dubai, the largest city in the United Arab Emirates.

🏗 Construction of Palm Jumeirah began in mid-2001. The work was carried out by an Arab developer company, founded a year before the start of the large-scale project. Its name, Nakheel, translates from Arabic as "palm" or "palm tree".
