Artillery and rocket strikes intensify in Kharkiv.

After several relatively quiet nights, artillery fire around Kharkiv, in eastern Ukraine, intensified overnight and into Friday morning, with outgoing and incoming fire echoing through the city.

Oleh Synyehubov, the head of Kharkiv’s Regional Military Administration, said on Telegram that Ukrainian forces had recorded about 50 attacks from both artillery and rocket launchers on Thursday.

On Thursday afternoon, two people were killed when rockets slammed into a residential neighborhood in the northern part of Kharkiv. That attack also damaged a school and set an apartment block and other buildings on fire. Read more
