Strikes hit central Kyiv, setting at least one building ablaze.
A missile strike rocked central Kyiv on Thursday night, setting a building on fire and bringing several ambulances and dozens of soldiers rushing to the scene, officials said.
The mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said on Telegram that “the enemy” struck the Shevchenkivskyi district twice. Witnesses near the fire said that a number of people were injured and taken away in ambulances, though it was not immediately clear how many people were hurt.
At least two missiles struck the area, one hitting an apartment building and the other falling on a factory across the street, said Yuriy Levchenko, a former Ukrainian member of Parliament who came to the scene.
“They are trying to degrade our industrial capacity as much as possible and at the same time terrorize the population,” he said. “It’s part of their terror campaign. It happens almost every day somewhere in Ukraine.” Read more
