Here are the latest developments in the war in Ukraine.

Russia is facing mounting criticism that it is holding hostage millions of tons of Ukrainian wheat, a vital food supply, for political gain amid a worsening hunger crisis.

Charles Michel, president of the European Council, on Monday accused Russia of using its leverage over the world’s food supply as “a stealth missile against developing countries.”

Moscow has instead sought to blame the sanctions on Russia for fanning global food insecurity.

In other developments:
- The Ukrainians and Russians are claiming to have inflicted decisive losses against each other in recent days in the fight for the city of Sievierodonetsk.

- Britain on Monday promised to send Ukraine mobile multiple-rocket launchers, improving the range and accuracy of Ukrainian artillery, days after President Biden committed to sending similar weapons.
