The C.I.A. director says Putin believes the U.S. will forget about Ukraine.

William Burns, the C.I.A. director, says that President Vladimir Putin of Russia believes that the U.S. will suffer from “attention deficit disorder” and lose interest and resolve in the Ukraine war.

But Mr. Burns argued that from the beginning of the war Mr. Putin has consistently misjudged both the Ukrainians’ will to fight and Western resolve to help. “And I think he’s wrong now,” Mr. Burns said. Read more
