Russia and Ukraine each have over 100,000 casualties, the top U.S. general says.

Russia’s war in Ukraine has left more than 100,000 of Moscow’s troops dead or wounded, the United States’ most senior general said this week, citing a casualty figure that in just nine months has surpassed that of America’s 20-year engagement in Afghanistan.

Ukraine has probably lost a similar number of troops, Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in remarks at the Economic Club of New York on Wednesday. Read more
