Ukraine says the extension of the grain deal offers hope for easing a global food crisis.

A pivotal deal that has allowed millions of tons of grains to be exported from Ukrainian ports through the Black Sea has been extended for an additional 120 days, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN said on Thursday, helping to ease worries of widespread hunger amid global food shortages and price spikes.

Russia, the fourth party to the agreement, did not immediately comment on the extension of the deal, which was initially set to expire on Saturday. Read more
