The International Criminal Court, which last week issued an arrest warrant for President Vladimir Putin, will open an office in Ukraine to facilitate investigations into war crimes in the midst of Russia's invasion.

"This step will allow international justice to be even more active in investigating the crimes of the Russian military on our Ukrainian soil," President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

World Athletics, the governing body for track and field, voted to continue its ban on athletes from Russia and Belarus from participating in events. The move is the latest sign that the push to keep Russia and Belarus out of the 2024 Olympics next summer in Paris has not ebbed.

The EU is set to organize an international conference aimed at tracing Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, the president of the European Commission said. The abduction of Ukrainian children was "a war crime" and "a horrible reminder of the darkest times of our history," she said.
