Singapore's Q1 total employment sees sharpest contraction since Sars
Total employment, excluding foreign domestic workers, shrank by 19,000, compared with the 24,000 contraction seen in Q2 2003 during the peak of the Sars outbreak, according to estimates released on Wednesday.
At the same time, overall unemployment rate inched up to 2.4 per cent in Q1.
