After 138 years, the Sagrada Familia is still work in progress
Its doors were forced to close in March 2020, and remained shut for almost a year, putting a halt on funding for building work (chiefly from entry ticket fees) and dragging back the goal of completing it by the 100th anniversary of Gaudi's death in 2026.
"We can't give any estimate as to when it will be finished because we don't know how visitor numbers will recover in the coming years," its 7th chief architect Jordi Fauli says.
