New cooling measures overturn sanguine outlook for new private home market for 2022
In the first 11 months of the year, developers sold 12,467 new private homes - a “spectacular performance”, one analyst said. This would represent the highest annual tally since 2013, which saw 14,948 new homes snapped up.
Analysts BT spoke to also flagged the heightened likelihood of cooling measures hitting sooner than later -- sure enough, they did, minutes before midnight overnight.
