BT autos contributor Leow Ju-Len says the battery-powered iX may be BMW's tech flagship, but its true inspiration is from the hospitality world, with its designers having taken inspiration from boutique hotels.

Upon approaching it, for instance, it not only unlocks its doors but also fires up its air-conditioning before you even step into the car.
