[JUST IN]: Singapore’s GDP to grow 3-5% in 2022, says PM Lee as he outlines reasons for coming GST hike

In his New Year's Day message to Singaporeans, he explained that the government will need “reliable and adequate” revenues to carry out its social programmes to realise the country's goals.

“We have seen this need coming for some years. Now that our economy is emerging from Covid-19, we have to start moving on (the process of implementing the GST hike),” he said.
