US flight cancellations top 2,800 as Covid-19, snow pummel airlines
Already, about 8,200 flights have been grounded since the start of this year. Airports in the north-eastern US led cancellations as a winter storm with heavy snow and winds spread from the mid-Atlantic, closing schools and federal offices in Washington and cutting power to more than one million people.
