FEATURE: Behind the exodus of junior lawyers in Singapore
One 25-year-old law grad called it quits after just four months of being called to the Bar. She told BT's Kelly Ng:
"I was waking up at 5.30am and going to sleep at 2am. The worst part is, this is what's expected of you. If you wanted to go for dinner, you had to get permission from the partner you were reporting to. If you wanted to go to sleep at 2am, you had to inform the partner."
But Law Society president Adrian Tan feels that the spike in exits last year was more likely thanks to opportunities accorded by the ongoing pandemic.
