International bookings to South-east Asia rising as borders open: Skyscanner
International passenger travel in the Asia-Pacific region was down 93 per cent from pre-pandemic levels last year, leaving airlines heavily reliant on freight for revenue, with the large Chinese outbound tourism market remaining closed.
Countries like Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore, however, are seeing return economy-class bookings from travellers in the US and Europe rise by between 19 and 300 per cent in January relative to December.
