SMF leadership had planned to remove Board of Governors: sources
The SMF's BOG was formed in 2013 to "enhance the Federation's corporate governance and accountability practices", as well as to serve "as an additional avenue to safeguard the interests of the SMF".
Its members are former foreign affairs minister George Yeo; Amoy Canning Corporation MD George Huang; and Excellent Family Lifestyle Group executive chairman Robert Chua.
