F&B outlets starting to pass on costs from utilities bill spike
Even before the Ukraine crisis, electricity costs have risen by between 80 and 300 per cent since late last year for F&B operators to whom BT spoke.
Also, in a January poll of close to 600 F&B outlets conducted by the Restaurant Association of Singapore, respondents who changed their electricity contracts reported an average rise of 130 per cent in costs, with increases ranging from 38.5 to 471.8 per cent.
