IEA urges 'emergency measures' to cut oil use over supply fears
An alternative to increasing supply, given the "disappointing outcome" of the recent Opec+ meeting, is for demand to be cut amongst the world's advanced economies, which represent "around 45 per cent of global oil demand", the IEA said.
10 proposals put forward in a report, including increasing working from home and reducing speed limits, could cut oil consumption among advanced economies "by 2.7 million barrels a day within the next 4 months".
