Malaysia logistics firms may have to pass on cost of Covid-19 tests to Singapore customers

Malaysian logistics firm Tiong Nam Logistics Holdings has engaged a clinic to offer PCR tests at their offices for drivers who will depart for Singapore, starting this Thursday, said managing director Ong Yoong Nyock.

He noted that the cost is RM120 for each test, and the firm has at least 80 trucks departing for Singapore every day.

"Assuming every day we have 80 trucks and each has two staff, the test will cost us close to RM20,000 a day," he said. "We are considering charging the extra cost to customers."
