Feeling lonely or depressed?

Talk to an AI therapist!

WHO estimates that one in eight people on the planet suffers from mental health disorders. One in three complains of loneliness. Not everyone gets help: in developed countries there are 9 psychiatrists for every 100,000 people, and in developing countries only 1 in a million.

📈 AI-powered chatbots offering psychological support are getting increasingly popular. There’s evidence that they can help cope with depression and anxiety.

The demand for AI-powered mental health support grew during the pandemic. The AI industry in the mental health market is now valued at $1 billion and is expected to reach $11 billion by 2032.

English-language chatbot Wysa offers personalized mental health support, including techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness exercises, and tips to improve sleep. The bot has a 🆘 button for urgent psychological help. In 2022, Wysa received FDA "breakthrough device" designation for its AI-led mental health conversational agent. More than 5 million people in 95 countries use the service.

Pi from Inflection AI is a free AI-powered service launched in 2023 by LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman and DeepMind founder Mustafa Suleiman. More than 600 professionals from different fields, including psychotherapists, took part in the algorithm training.

Research also shows that AI-powered chatbots can be particularly effective in helping teenagers.

Dima Zicer, teacher and educator:
Teenagers rarely seek help. They trust their peers more than adults. Therefore, a chatbot may be a better option. The bot doesn't put any pressure on them. There are no obligations. It doesn’t manipulate, unlike many unqualified psychologists. And, most importantly, any self-reflection is useful, regardless of the format.
