🎆The Future of AI: Starting the Year with Bill Gates' Forecast

In his blog, Bill Gates says the use of artificial intelligence is the main outcome of 2023. For 2024, the Microsoft founder predicts explosive growth in the use of AI in almost every aspect of life, especially in medicine and education. AI is expected to be a key driver of innovation in the coming years, driving rapid change, especially in developing countries.

Gates highlights several areas where AI will drive major breakthroughs:

💊 Creating new medicines, including cancer and AIDS treatments, by analyzing big data.

🛡️ Combating mortality from antibiotic-resistant infections, particularly in Africa, through analyzing pathogen data.

💬 Chatbots to offer medical advice in places with limited access to doctors. The next generation of chatbots will also help manage high-risk pregnancies, HIV risk assessment, and medical records.

📚 Personalized education with access to online tutoring for everyone, regardless of location and income.

🙂 In the next 5 years, everyone who uses the internet will have a personal AI agent for a variety of tasks, from making doctor's appointments to planning vacations.

Gates compares the current period of AI development to the 90's when the internet first emerged: “If you are old enough to remember, think back to the beginning of the internet. At first, you probably didn’t know many people who were using it. But it became more common over time until, one day, you realized most people had email addresses, bought things online, and used search engines to answer their questions.”

In the U.S. and Europe, Gates predicts the mass adoption of AI in the next year and a half to two years.
