How AI is changing education

When ChatGPT became publicly available, many schools and universities banned its use.

Now, educational institutions are changing their minds. They realize that AI will inevitably become part of the learning process, just as it happened when the Internet entered our lives.

🏫 SCHOOL

Schools in several countries have already authorized ChatGPT, considering it as essential in learning as computers and calculators.

🇦🇺 In Australia, OpenAI's ChatGPT became officially available in all schools nationwide.
🇩🇰 In Denmark, as part of a two-year experiment, both students and teachers are allowed to use ChatGPT in 5 schools.
🇺🇸 Schools in the USA are testing the Khanmigo chatbot, which communicates with students using the "Socratic method" — in the discussion format, where the users are encouraged to explain their reasoning.

Thanks to AI, students will be able to interview digital clones of historical personalities and will be able to go on virtual field trips. AI tools will save up to 50% of teachers' time, says Salman Khan, founder of Khanmigo.
Here’s Salman Khan’s lecture on TED about How AI could save education.

👩🏻‍🎓UNIVERSITY

In 2019, the first AI University opened in UAE.

OpenAI recently signed its first-ever collaboration agreement with Arizona State University, one of the most prestigious and innovative institutions in the U.S. and the world.

The university plans to use ChatGPT in such areas as:
— learning process, including personalized virtual tutors;
— scientific research;
— administrative tasks.

OpenAI believes that other universities will soon follow the example of the University of Arizona.

Many leading universities will adapt their curricula and approaches to keep the value of education in the AI era, says Anna Veklich, E-Quadrat Science & Education expert.
