We have gathered information about how the founder of Buddy.ai, Ivan Kryukov, created an animated character that helps children worldwide learn English.
👨👩👧👦 "Our children inspired us"
It all started when my daughter asked me to play "Peppa Pig." We came up with a simple truth: children cannot independently type on tablets. Later, when my daughter struggled with speaking English, and we hired an online tutor, I realized that an AI tutor could do 90% of what the tutor was doing.

👨🎓 How AI Learned
Every month, we collect about a thousand hours of children's speech in English. Since Buddy works in 9 languages, we can gather a database with various children's accents, allowing Buddy to recognize children's voices more accurately than even Google.

We've raised $6.6 million. Our major investors are LETA Capital and One Way Ventures.
📈 Growth and Revenue
Last year, 22 million people installed Buddy. Every day, 100,000 children use Buddy. Most of them have a subscription (≈$14). The company's annual revenue is about $6 million, doubling yearly.
👨🏫 Integration into Schools
Last year, we launched a joint project with a Brazilian school serving 400 students. They are assigned English homework through Buddy. Another 11 schools worldwide are planning to implement Buddy soon.
