🤖 The world and AI in 2030, according to Forbes
Forbes magazine forecasted what the world and AI might look like at the beginning of the next decade.
🔮 5 predictions:
1️⃣ We will interact with AI bots hourly — and as much as with humans — using AIs as our personal assistants, tutors, career counselors, therapists, accountants, and romantic partners. AI will become a major marketing, sales, and customer service tool. And a radical shift toward mass adoption of AI could happen overnight.
2️⃣ Along with robots performing highly specialized tasks (such as working in a warehouse or making coffee), universal robots will appear in mass quantities. Tesla plans to start selling Optimus by the end of 2025, and by 2030, at least 100,000 humanoid robots will be deployed in the real world.
3️⃣ The concept of AGI will become outdated and no longer be widely used. We will stop conceptualizing the AI trajectory as heading toward some 'generalized' end state, especially one whose contours are defined by human capabilities. AI will radically surpass humans in many areas.
4️⃣ Nvidia, the leader in AI chips, will lose its dominant position. The main competitor will be Intel, which already owns the chip manufacturing factories. Other tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, and OpenAI will also invest heavily in developing their own AI chips.
5️⃣ In the early 2030s, AI will revolutionize the economy by performing a vast number of tasks cheaper, faster, and more efficiently than humans. At the same time, AI-driven job loss will become one of the most acute political and social problems. New jobs will appear — but not for everyone. For this reason, protests and riots could take place, and parties and political camps standing “for” or “against” the power of AI will arise. As a consequence, several countries will adopt universal basic income legislation.
