Ноланд арбо став першою людиною з чіпом neuralink який дозволяє керувати пристро

👉 29-year-old Noland Arbo made history as the first person with a Neuralink chip, allowing him to control devices with his mind. He has paralysis of his entire body below the neck following an accident.

In January of this year, he received a research device called "Telepathy." The chip decodes intended movement signals in the brain and translates them into computer commands. Arbo merely has to think about moving the cursor on his laptop screen, and it moves. Now, Arbo gave his first interview. Here is a summary.

😱 About Fears

I wasn't scared going into the surgery to get Neuralink's implant inserted in January. There were a lot of risks involved, especially being the first to have it. I was worried about getting brain damage.

🛠 After the Surgery

About a month after I got it, some of the device's wires retracted from my brain. The team talked to a lot of brain surgeons and came to the conclusion that the brain moves about a millimeter. But they found that it moved 3 mm. They ended up doing it instead of fixing it through another surgery. It didn't physically hurt, but it hurt emotionally because I thought that I wasn't going to be able to use the device anymore.

🔠 Easy to use

Sometimes, my day starts at 7 am, and I use the implant until 11 pm. I am constantly doing multiple tasks at the same time when I am in sessions or gaming. I now play chess, Civilisation VI, and Mario Kart. I keep thinking about where I want the cursor to go.

👥 Social Life

I've been using it to message people on X, reply to emails, and access a site I use to learn Japanese. I also used it to book a hotel when I visited Neuralink's headquarters.

👾 "While I Was Sleeping"

I fell asleep while using it once, and the cursor still moves and clicks stuff. When I woke up, there were around 10 different applications open on the computer.

👍 What's Next?

Elon Musk has already received permission to have surgery on a second patient.
