👍 Dario Amodei, Anthropic: Powerful AI Will Be Smarter Than Any Nobel Laureate

Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, spoke about the potential of artificial intelligence with "human-like consciousness" (so-called AGI). We have selected 7 interesting points from his column about humanity in the era of powerful AI.

6️⃣ Powerful AI (Dario dislikes the term AGI) will emerge by 2026. It will be:

🌟 Smarter than any Nobel Prize laureate, capable of proving unsolved mathematical theorems, writing good novels, and creating complex codebases from scratch;
🌟 Absolutely omnichannel: voice, video, images, text;
🌟 Able to autonomously perform complex tasks;
🌟 Without physical embodiment, meaning it won't be a robot;
🌟 Capable of generating information 100 times faster than the human brain.

2️⃣ The real world and biological processes (such as cell division speed and movement within organisms) will limit AI's learning speed, preventing a sudden singularity.

3️⃣ Even incredibly powerful AI will only be able to make predictions a few steps ahead in chaotic systems (like the three-body problem).

4️⃣ Powerful AI could increase the speed of discoveries in biology tenfold, giving us 50–100 years of progress in just 5–10 years.

5️⃣ AI will reduce cancer mortality by 95%.

6️⃣ Neurobiology, supported by AI, can cure almost all psychiatric diseases within the next 20 years.

7️⃣ 5-10 years is a reasonable timeframe for 50% of AI-based healthcare services to spread to even the world's poorest countries — a huge step in overcoming poverty and dangerous diseases.
