EHang Holdings, a company from Guangzhou, has received permission to conduct trial flights using its air taxi service in several cities in China. The first commercial model, EH216, was personally tested by the company's vice president, Dong Wang. The operation of the EH216 is automated. When passengers input the coordinates of their destination, the planning system constructs a route on the server and then uploads it to the taxi's autopilot. Human intervention is not needed for control. Special platforms will be required for takeoff and landing. EHang Holdings has already announced plans to build them in major cities in China.
