👤 AI Learns to Recreate Human Personality After a Two-Hour Interview
Specialists from Google DeepMind, in collaboration with computer scientists and sociologists from various universities, have developed an artificial intelligence system capable of simulating a individual's personality after just a two-hour interview.
The technology is built on the ChatGPT model. During the process, the chatbot conducted structured interviews using a specialized methodology and reviewed participants' questionnaires. The AI then analyzed the data, taking on the roles of four experts—a psychologist, an economist, a political scientist, and a demographer—to construct a "digital clone" of each individual.
The results showed impressive accuracy: in a broad sociological survey, the responses of the real participants and their AI-generated counterparts matched 85% of the time. The accuracy was slightly lower in personality tests and economic simulations, at 80% and 66%, respectively.
Participants were interviewed twice, at a two-week interval, to account for possible fluctuations in their responses. The AI model was only given access to the second set of interviews, ensuring that it could not simply memorize earlier data.
❔ Why Is This Important?
Current data collection methods are often costly and time-intensive. AI-powered systems can make these processes more efficient and affordable, enabling large-scale research on social dynamics.
Moreover, this technology has the potential to enhance interactions between humans and AI assistants or personal robots, paving the way for more personalized and intuitive AI experiences.
