🛍 Bill Gates' Daughter Launches AI Shopping App

Phoebe, Bill Gates' youngest daughter, and her Stanford dorm roommate, Sophia Kianni, have launched an AI service Phia. It analyzes over 40,000 websites for the best deals on apparel and accessories. The tool searches not only retailers but also private sellers, alerting customers to overpriced items.

"We're roommates fighting about clothing. We are the girls who are scouring shopping sites for deals. And there are, frankly, thousands of other young women like us," says Phoebe Gates.

Gates got the idea for the app after seeing an Area dress, originally purchased for $500, being offered for $150 on a resale website. She says she felt "really foolish."

Phoebe's father provided her with only moral support, according to Bill Gates himself. He worried that if his daughter asked for funding, it would create a conflict of interest.

"Then I would have kept her on a short leash and be doing business reviews, which I would have found tricky, and I probably would have been overly nice but wondered if it was the right thing to do? Luckily, it never happened," says Bill Gates.

Instead of her famous father, the project received $500,000 in investments from Kris Jenner, mother and manager of the Kardashian family, Spanx founder Sara Blakely, and venture capitalist Joanne Bradford.
