🔍 Perplexity Releases Its AI Browser Comet
Perplexity has launched Comet, a Chromium-based browser with a built‑in AI agent. By default, it blocks ads and uses Perplexity's AI search.
The main feature is an AI assistant, which:
✔️ Summarizes, translates, or explains any page. It can also perform complex tasks, such as filling out forms or making groceries.
✔️ Searches also closed tabs or even watched videos;
✔️ Integrated with Google services: can plan a meeting or find emails.
🔜 Comet is now available now only to Max subscribers ($200 per month). Free access will be rolling out in a few weeks.
🟣 "Browser Wars" Are Back?
AI startups aim to shake up a market for years dominated by Google Chrome. Perplexity isn't first.
OpenAI said it could buy Chrome if the court forces Google to sell it. The Arc team has shifted to its agent browser, Dia. Chinese developers are building Fellou.
Big Techs push back: Microsoft has Copilot in Edge; Google is testing Gemini for Chrome.
Are you ready to switch to an AI browser?
