💃 AI Models Appear in Vogue for the First Time

Vogue Australia's August issue featured a Guess ad with an AI-generated model. The campaign also appeared in Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Grazia, the Financial Times, and 20 stores worldwide.

Guess commissioned Seraphinne Vallora, an AI design agency created by Valentina Gonzalez and Andreea Petrescu, to create the model.

The founders initially planned to launch a jewelry brand, but couldn't afford a human model. Instead, they used AI-generated models, and those ended up drawing more attention than the jewelry itself. Their agency has been developing AI-powered fashion campaigns and ads for the past 2 years.

The team consists of just five people, and it takes about a month to develop one AI model. They start with physical parameters: body type, eye and hair color, and height. Depending on the project's scale, the cost can reach six figures.

The inclusion of AI in Vogue, one of the world's most prominent fashion magazines, also sparked outrage. Both the magazine and the brand are being accused of replacing humans with soulless imagery and of promoting artificial, unrealistic beauty standards.
