😇 Ozzy Osbourne Selfies from Heaven: AI Tribute to the "Prince of Darkness" Sparks Controversy
British rock legend Rod Stewart used AI-generated footage to pay tribute to Black Sabbath co-founder Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July.
During the final shows of his One Last Time tour, Stewart dedicated "Forever Young" to Osbourne. While he sang, a screen behind him showed a cloud-filled sky, symbolizing heaven, and a smiling, AI-generated Ozzy.
In the video, Ozzy is seen snapping a selfie with fellow music legends who've passed on—Michael Jackson, Prince, Freddie Mercury, Tina Turner, Kurt Cobain, 2Pac, and others. Everyone looks young, happy, and very much alive ⤴️
Clips from the concerts quickly went viral on social media, sparking intense reactions. Some called the tribute "creepy," "disrespectful," and even blasphemous, pointing out that Prince, for example, was outspoken against this kind of tech when he was alive. Others found it touching—a heartfelt way to show beloved stars happy and together in a better place.
What do you think—is this a respectful tribute to the "Prince of Darkness"?
❤️ — Touching and tech-savvy
