The AI is designed to be a psychologist, mentor, and assistant all in one.
Suddenly, Renner's neighbor Jamie enters his life, and the budding romance disrupts his usual routine. The artificial intelligence perceives the girl as a threat, suspecting her of selfish motives. Gradually, the algorithm spirals out of control: it stops being just a program and hires real criminals to "save" its creator from emotions and bring him back to his former goals.
Salenus is not just the name of the AI coach in the movie but also the real name of an AI app designed to combat procrastination.
