👽 What if There Are Other Civilizations In the Universe. But They're Just as Limited as We Are?
According to NASA astrophysicist Robin Corbet's "Radical Mediocrity Hypothesis," there's a moderate number of civilizations in our galaxy, but none of them possess "super-science." No one is building Dyson spheres, traveling faster than light, or transmitting signals through dark energy.
"They're more advanced, but not by much. It's like having an iPhone 42 instead of an iPhone 17," says the scientist.
In his view, this explains the "Great Silence": if intelligent life exists beyond Earth, why don't we see any signs of it?
The answer is simple: aliens don't have technologies that could be detected from afar, and colonizing space is just as expensive, time-consuming, and pointless for them as it is for us.
🪐 Does that sound disappointing? Maybe. But such a Universe is actually less frightening. After all, if no one else is out there—we're alone. And if they exist but aren't that different from us—it means life in the Universe isn't an exception, but a rule.
What do you think? Are we alone in the Universe?
❤️ — No, there must be someone else!
🔥 — Yes, humanity is unique
🤔 — We'll never know...
