❎ Grokipedia: Musk's Answer to Wikipedia

Elon Musk has launched Grokipedia, an internet encyclopedia from xAI that aims to become an improved, unbiased version of Wikipedia.

Grokipedia v0.1 contains 885,000 English articles "fact-checked by Grok." Musk promises that version 1.0 will be 10 times better, but, in his opinion, the current version already surpasses Wikipedia.

✏️ Who Writes the Articles?

It's not entirely clear, but probably Grok itself. On each page, you can also highlight any text and ask the AI a question about it. But there are no direct edits from the community — readers can only suggest corrections.

Grokipedia's lack of bias is questionable. For example, the Grokipedia article about US Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. says he "scrutinizes vaccine ingredients." At the same time, Wikipedia directly calls him a conspiracy theorist and anti-vaxxer. Grokipedia is also careful when talking about Musk himself.

Some users note that articles in Musk's encyclopedia are almost identical to pages from Wiki (this has already made it into the Wikipedia article about Grokipedia).

Wikimedia Foundation representative Lauren Dickinson stated that even Grokipedia needs Wikipedia for its existence and that the appearance of a competitor will not interfere with Wikipedia's work and mission.
