🎙 ElevenLabs Launches a Marketplace of Celebrity Voices

The face of the new Iconic Voice Marketplace is 92-year-old actor Michael Caine ⤴️

The marketplace features 28 voices in total—from classic Hollywood actors like John Wayne, Judy Garland, and Rock Hudson to scientists, poets, and historical figures, including Amelia Earhart, J. Robert Oppenheimer, Maya Angelou, and Alan Turing.

Companies will be able to legally use these "digital" voices in their projects to create AI-powered narration. ElevenLabs presents the marketplace as an "ethical alternative" to unlicensed deepfake voices.

At the same time, the startup signed an agreement with Matthew McConaughey. The "AI" version of the actor will narrate the Spanish-language edition of his newsletter, "Lyrics of Livin’".

McConaughey says he is impressed by how ElevenLabs' technology "expands the possibilities for storytellers" and enables him to reach audiences in new languages. He has been working with ElevenLabs since 2022 and has even invested in the company.
