👶 Voice-Activated AI-Powered Printer for Kids
Stickerbox is a gadget from New York startup Hapiko with a built-in thermal printer. The device prints stickers based on voice prompts in different languages.
The toy connects to the Wi-Fi but doesn't run in the background or store voice data. It only "listens" after a user presses the large button at the top. The child tells the gadget their idea, the AI processes the request, and in a few seconds, prints a sticker with a black-and-white picture.
According to the developers, the AI does not respond to requests for "adult" images.
Startup co-founder Bob Whitney says that the idea for the gadget came from his young son, who asked him to print "pages for coloring" based on his own images. His partner, Arun Gupta, adds that no one is currently building AI specifically for children, and their startup aims to fill that gap.
"We want to be the trusted brand for parents where you don't have to look over your kid's shoulder and be like, 'what are they doing? How are they using this?'" explains Gupta.
🧮 Stickerbox costs $99 and is currently only available in the US.
