🎥 The "AI Oscar" Winner Received $1 Million
Google presented its first AI film award—the AI Film Award. The grand prize of $1 million went to the short film "Lily," directed and designed by Zubeir El-Jlassi from Tunisia.
"Lily" is an intimate, unsettling story about a lonely archivist. His quiet life is shattered in an instant: at the scene of a hit-and-run accident, he finds a doll. An ordinary object becomes a silent witness to someone else's guilt—and weighs heavier than any words. Gradually, the protagonist realizes that he can't just close his eyes and "move on."
The film is cold, dark, and surprisingly cohesive. The Veo video generator maintains the quality and atmosphere from scene to scene, without any sense of "random" moments. The creator also used Gemini during the preparation stage—for storyboarding and developing the visual character of the protagonists.
